Description:
An effort to rescue the ancestral knowledge and traditions of the Maya Itza Culture through responsible and sustainable tourism

This tour is made for people who really like the culture, history and traditions of the local people living in their small village, in this case San Jose opposite Flores on the shores of beautiful Lake Petén-Itza.  The village still has a remote, isolated feel and is the center of the Itza Maya culture, a local guide will tell us the history .. people seems to be the descendants of the last Maya King Canek and escaped from Chichen Itza in Mexico .. as well as the traditions of his village … walking through the streets we are visiting the catholic church with the syncretic mix of Maya, a botanical garden (medicinal plants) and local families .. you can help to make your lunch (included) if you want with the locals! You will have time for a swim at the beach in town!
