Rio Dulce Explored

Leaving Livingston at 9:30am to visit the canyon of the Río Dulce. Here, we take in the cave of the cow, the painted wall and visit the Río Tatin, stopping at the project Ak Tenamit and at agua caliente for those that want to swim. Then we continue to the lagoon at El Jardín, a small path where the boat passes slowly so that you can see the mangroves and flowers. We continue to two small islands where you can see different types of birds. Next we got to the Biotopo del Chocon Machacas (manatee wildlife reserve) where we will stop for about 45-60 minutes. We continue to the castle of San Felipe before returning to the village at Río Dulce. Entrance fees to the Biotopo (Q20) and the Castle at San Felipe (Q10) are additional. Does not include lunch. The stop at Biotopo Chocón Machacas is made only when the tour is private and it is specifically asked for, as the park at Chocón offers a similar experience as the other places we visit on the tour.
Group tour:
Leave Livingston at 9:30am and arrive at Río Dulce at 12.00pm,
For return trip, leave at 14:00pm and arrive in Livingston at 17:00pm

The private tours are organized according to the clients. Taking into consideration the time of arrival at the different destinations, we estimate that the tour will take 3 hours.

Amidst the natural beauty and splendor of Lake Izabal, there is a small ranch that protects a marvelous site where a waterfall of warm water falls into a small river. It is a magnificent place to visit and rest.
