Loma Linda is a marvelous rural community located in a beautiful mountainside of el Palmar, 2 hours driving from Quetzaltenango. Nowadays Loma Linda consists of 145 families (about 1,050 people in all). Their primary productive activity is the cultivation, processing, and sale of organic, shade grown coffee. The community’s second main activity is eco-tourism. During the visit to the community we will walk through the nature admiring the beauty of the waterfalls, the view to the volcanoes Santa Maria and Santiaguito, and of course the process and production of coffee. A local guide will explain all about the wildlife the community possess. 09:30M Arrival at Loma Linda
09:45AM Tour in the community, the guide will tell you the foundation of this community. Then, continue walking tour through the plantation and tropical forest, the tour includes explanations of coffee production and the surrounding nature. Then continue to see the majestic waterfalls nearby
13:30PM Lunch at the farm
14:30PM Transportation to the archeological site Takalik Abaj or The Hot Springs (Fuentes Georginas) to relax
18:30PM Arrival back in Xela (it is also possible if you would prefer to stay in Fuentes)
