Arrival at the International airport La Aurora and ground transportation to the colonial town of Antigua.
Day 2 There will be a cultural walking tour in the morning, followed by lunch and a visit to some of the surrounding indig enous villages in the afternoon.
Day 3 Today is the departure to the most beautiful lake in the world, Lake Atitlán. On the way we will visit the Mayan ruins of Iximché in the town of Tecpán.
Day 4 Today we will go with a collective boat tour and a local guide (English speaking) over the Lake Atitlán to visit three villages; Santiago de Atitlán, San Pedro Atitlán and San Antonio Palopó. We will visit the famous Don San Simon (local saint). An English speaking guide is available. At 4 pm we depart with our shuttle to Xela.(official name Quet zaltenango).
Day 5-8 We will leave this morning at 6am to the Volcano Chicabal. Breakfast is included. In the afternoon we will have a tour through the indigenous villages of Zunil, Cantel, Almolonga and the natural volcanic hot springs of Fuentes Georginas.- On day six we will start a three day hike from Xela back to Lake Atitlán, through some small Guatemalan villages. Overnights will be with Mayan families in small villages. The hike ends in San Pedro la Laguna or Panajachel. * Alternative for the NON hikers: Stay in the surroundings of Xela and do some one day hikes and explore the Indig enous villages.
Day 9 (Sunday or Thursday) Early shuttle from Panajachel or Xela to Chichicastenango. The morning is free to explore the Chichicastenango market. At 16:00 a collective shuttle will leave from Chichicastenango to Antigua. Alternative: Take a shuttle straight to Antigua in the morning and have a free afternoon in Antigua!
Day 10 Early in the morning we will depart to Copán in Honduras where you spend the afternoon and have the time to ex plore the ruins of Copán with our guide / driver in private transportation.
Day 11 We are going to take a boat tour on el Golfete, finishing in Livingston
Day 12 Today we depart early from Copán to Quiriguá. After this we will continue to Río Dulce.
Day 13 Free day, which can be spent at the beach or in the town.
Day 14 We will take the boat to Puerto Barrios and then have ground transportation to Flores
Day 15/16 We leave early in the morning to National Park Tikal. Today is one of the highlights of your trip to Guatemala, we will visit Tikal. You will stay at a hotel in the National Park so you will have the opportunity to view the beautiful sunset or sunrise. Overnight in the Park, Hotel Tikal Inn. Breakfast is included in the Hotel! The next day you will have a guided tour through Tikal. You will be able to see different animals, such as monkeys, dears etc. There is a local guide who takes you around the ruins in the morning. In the afternoon you have a flight back from Flores to Guate mala City where you are picked up and brought back to Antigua by a private shuttle.
Day 17 Free day in Antigua.
Day 18 Transfer to the International airport La Aurora in Guatemala City
