We leave Quetzaltenango early in the morning and make our way by public bus to the town of San Marcos, near the Mexican border. After breakfast (not included) in the town of San Marcos, we will board a second bus to a place called Crucero Tajumulco. At approximately 10:30 am, we will begin our hike through cornfields and farmland.  Lunch is provided after about 2 hours. At about 4:00pm we are will reach our camping spot at an altitude of 4000m.  In normal weather conditions we will visit the summit (200 meters) to see an epic sunset.  After we getting settled, we will have a campfire, dinner and sleep overnight in tents.  We begin at 5:00am the next morning with a 45 minute walk to see the sunrise and views of the Cuchumatanes -  from Tacana to Volcano Fuego.
