About Us
Adrenalina Tours, is one of the most experienced tour operators in Guatemala. Our main office is in Quetzaltenango, the principal city of the Western Highlands and the second largest city in Guatemala. Our other office is in Antigua, which is one hour away from Guatemala City and the airport, and usually the first destination for visitors in this fascinating country.

We also have an office in Huehuetenango, which concentrates on natural, social and cultural attractions – where most of the communities still have (through the practice) inherited traditions of their forefathers. Soon we will open an office in Panajachel on lake Atitlan. From these offices we offer many services that cover all of Guatemala and extend into Mexico, Belize, Honduras and El Salvador.

We operate daily shuttles to and from major tourist destinations in the Western Highlands and offer arranged service to and from the airport. We offer half-day and full-day tours to indigenous villages, markets, and colonial churches. We offer several hikes with different levels of difficulty, some with a duration of several days. We offer packaged tours with durations from one to several days. These tours take you to the most interesting and beautiful places in our little part of the world.

Hi Patrick, My friend had a great time climbing Santa Maria and Laguna Chicabal. She said the service was excellent. She needs to go to Mexico tomorrow to get a flight from Tuxla Gutierrez on Tuesday. Do you have a shuttle going to La Mesilla or Tapachula? Thanks Rachel MacLennan Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, Central America (502) 5774 5817 (-6 GMT)

Dear Javier, I wanted to write and thank you for your service. When my plans were disrupted when the shuttle failed to pick me up to go to Tikal (from Antigua), I was quite upset. However, your sincerity and customer service was great and helped in dissolving my frustration. Thank you for your time and efforts. You are surely an asset to Adrenalina Tours! Roy (from California)

Carlos Craigle

Hi, We just returned from our guatemala trip yesterday, Everything went perfectly and Andres did his job very well. I would like to mention the EXCELLENT work of Salim, our private driver, who took us to Semuc Champey, Lanquin, Boquerón Canyon, Finca Paraiso and Rio Dulce in a really bad road (lanquin-cahabon). I also want to mention that our guide, Edwin (not sure of the orthograph), for the Santiaguito trek was AMAZING!!! You have very good people working for you. I will definitely recommend your agency to my friends :) have a nice day Brigitte PS: do you have the personal email of Edwin...i have pictures for him and i would like to ask him some pictures as well :)

Hello Patrick I just want to tell you that everything worked out well for us. We had a little trouble getting picked up but that was due to our flight coming in late. In the same way, we were unable to stop at Iximche on the way to Pana. Although our driver made a valiant attempt, the combination of a late arrival and some pretty horrible traffic made it impossible to get to Iximche before it would have closed. Again, this was not the drivers fault, he was great. Also, in Pana, Diego was very helpful to us and all our vouchers were all setup when we arrived. Diego also went the extra mile to make sure we got the right boat out to Santiago. The trip to and from Chichi also worked out fine. With reference to the Posada de Santiago, the room that we were given was perfectly acceptable and we had a lovely experience there. We look forward to working with you again on our next trip to Guatemala. Jim Donegan

Dear Patrick, I wanted to tell you how much we appreciated working with Adrenalina tours. Mario, Ingrid and Fidenzio were particularly helpful. We will highly recommend your services. On our next visit to Guatemala we hope to have more time with Mario. He was very knowledgeable and always extremely helpful. We had one disappointing day when we were provided a poorly functioning car on our return to Antigua and thus were unable to make the stops we had requested. Overall, though, your services, and particularly the staff members we noted were excellent. We have already recommended your company to other travelers. Congratulations on a great company Best regards, Bruce Silverman and Courtney Nevitt

Estimado amigo Pedro. Hazle llegar nuestros sentimientos a tu esposa y a tu cuñada.

I've just returned from a month in Guatemala. Prior to my arrival I contacted Javier at Adrenalina Tours via e-mail to arrange a couple of shuttles. During my visit I had the opportunity to meet Javier in person at the Antigua office. Not only were he and his staff professional and helpful, he even went so far as to introduce me to regional cuisine at an unknown, except to locals, establishment. Over the following weeks I referred no less than 6 other friends to Adrenalina, all of whom were equally as happy with their services. Whenever I return to Guatemala, I now know that I'll receive personal and highly effective service from Javier and the Adrenalina staff in Antigua. Many thanks!

Hi Patrick, It's Scott, the Canadian who was next to you on the semi-defective Pullmantur bus from San Salvador last week. I just wanted to say thanks for setting up the Pacaya tour for me from the bus. I was late enough arriving in Antigua that I likely wouldn't have been able to get a tour that evening, and my flight was early enough the next day that I wouldn't have had a chance to go. The volcano was amazing: a large river of lava was flowing that day! A truly once-in-a-lifetime experience! Thanks again. Scott scottshelley@comcast.net

Everything in the highlands was really perfect - great vehicle, friendly, safe drivers, everything on time. The transportation piece is what worried me - so many parts - and that part worked really well. I think I should have made the hotel arrangements myself, maybe? Anyway - thanks for your help, we had a wonderful time in Guatemala. Stacey hopefulist@yahoo.com

Hi Patrick, I think everything worked out very nicely, and I am sorry I haven’t contacted you sooner. The van driver in Antigua showed up promptly. He did ask for a voucher, but I didn’t have one. I showed him my e-mails, and he was fine with those and was happy to take us to the airport. We had no trouble there (except we forgot about the airport tax) and got to Flores just fine. The driver there offered to take us to Yaxha for a little extra, so we did that, and it was a very nice side trip. When we got to the Jungle Lodge, they, too, asked for a voucher, but since I didn’t have one and they had our reservations anyway, that worked out ok. The accommodations at the Jungle Lodge were fine. They have batteries to store the electricity. The batteries are on a grid system, and sometimes the systems went out so we had no electricity for several hours. I took a small portable fan with me that operates on 2 D batteries, and that made a huge difference when trying to sleep without the comfort of the ceiling fan when the electricity was off. The guide in Tikal, Luis, was fabulous and took us out the first day, explaining about the Mayan people, customs, buildings, legends, birds, trees, flowers. He is very knowledgeable. He offered to take us out very early the next day, too, for a little extra, so we did that and saw some mammals and lots of birds. Although we paid him for entrance to the park, we did not get any type of receipt so we were not able to go back into the park later that day for more exploration. But that was ok, too. We saw lots of monkeys and Toucans right around the pool, and it was pretty hot and humid, so we were content to just kick back and take it easy. The van taking us back to the airport was late. Apparently the driver showed up and wanted to take a nap. He was supposed to drive us at 2 and there were at least 2 groups of us (about 15 people) waiting for him to get up from his nap. His van was there, parked up a little ways from the reception area of the hotel and he finally woke up and got the van started close to 2:30. He then had to speed through the park, which we know he’s not supposed to do. We arrived at the airport and luckily our plane did not take off on time, so it all turned out ok. That was the only negative thing. I believe you also arranged for the Westin’s van to be there to pick us up and take us to the hotel, because they were there waiting for us, and that was great. The Westin is quite nice, and their food is very good. If you want to know about the food at the Jungle Lodge, I can tell you that I think it’s overpriced for what you get, they were out of many of the items that they offered on their menu, and it was just ok. We ended up twice at the Tikal Inn, I believe, to eat there. It’s a lot less expensive, and was about the same quality. Also, the Jungle Lodge only offers one bottle of water per room as complimentary, and it’s a small bottle. It would be nice if they would offer two bottles, one for each person instead of one bottle per room. We talked with them about that, but they said it was their policy for one bottle per room. Thank you so very much for arranging all the tours, the transportation, and everything that went with the trip to Tikal. We had an absolutely wonderful time. If I get the opportunity, I will recommend your company to others. You did a fabulous job! Muchas gracias, Barbara eweiss1211@sbcglobal.net

Buenas tardes, Diego. Hi Patrick, We have returned from our trip to Guatemala, and I would like to thank you once again for your assistance. Your team of drivers were excellent, courteous, prompt. It was great to meet you while we were in Xela. By the way, our accommodations at Dos Loros Inn in Antigua were excellent. It's a small, recently renovated place, owned by an American. Has 6 spacious rooms, with beautifully-appointed bathrooms. Along with a large kitchen available for guests to prepare their meals. Especially good for guests planning for an extended stay in Antigua. Bruce brumoyer@verizon.net

Groetjes Stan,constant.carpentier@telenet.be

Alam Farrukh (Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust) Dr.Alam@nhs.net Dear Patrick sorry for the delay in replying to you - it's been rather hectic since we got back We had a fantastic time over the 3 weeks, thank you for great organisation There are too many highlights to pick out single ones Favourite country: Guatamala Favourite experiences: posada caribe in sayaxche, tikal, roatan, el salvador Favourite hotel: la cocatera was amazing The travel agent in el salvador, Veroinca, was fantastic Birthday in san pedro sula with the paz family was also a highlight Otto was great fun & an interesting character! What could have been better: the hotel (B&B) in roatan could have been closer to the sea San pedro sula is not great for tourists, but the evening with the family was v enjoyable The only things I would have changed is that we would not have bothered with Casa Santa Domingo Hotel for our final night - the room was too small for 5 people Pico Bonito is in a great setting, but the meals v expensive - you were right in telling us 2 nights was enough We would have spent an extra night in La Cocatera in El Salvador Overall we had a wonderful time, the children said it was their favourite holiday ever!We shall certainly reccommend you to our friends - we have already had enquiries Thank you once againg for your expert organisation, and hope to be calling on you again Dr Farrukh Alam Consultant Psychiatrist

Hello Pat, I just got back from Honduras and would like to thank you for all the work coordinating the trip for us. It turned out great, a few little blips, mixed up hotels and some meal locations, but that is quite expected in Guatemala. Again, thanks for everything, the kids and I enjoyed the trip and Pedro the driver/tour guide. Hola Diego, We are now back in Canada safe and sound. It is much colder here but not as cold as when we left on Feb 8th.... The sun is shining right now and it is about 1 C outside... soon winter will be over and we will enjoy warmer temperatures ....20 - 30 C beginning in June. Kelly and I would like to thank you for all the arrangements you made for us for our adventure in Guatemala... all the transportation was right on time and the accomodations were very good... We really enjoyed Posada La Merced in Antigua and felt very safe... We told the owner we would highly recommend her Posada to anyone... Cafe el Sol in Montericco was also nice and we enjoyed the warmth, ocean, playa and pool. Our accomodations in Flores were nice and comfortable. We especially enjoyed our stay in the bungalows in Tikal, Rio Dulce and Finca Tatin. Our Tikal tour guide Bertha was fantastic and very knowledgeable. The whole trip was quite magical and we always felt safe and well looked after. Thanks for organizing this for us... we would highly recommend Adrenalina to anyone we know who plans to travel in Guatemala. Thanks again... Al almarcon@hotmail.com

Dear Diego: I want to thank you for the wonderful vacation we had recently in guatemala. the hikes were spectacular and the guides were terrific...very patient and always putting safety first. i want to particjlarly coomend the second guide (carlos?) for his enthusiasm and his encouragement. as you know, the hike wound up taking nearly 18 hours! but we did complete it and it was a great feeling. i certainly could never have done it without him. in addition, the taxi driver's were great. i work for an international road safety organization, and so i am particularly alert to good driving. the driver's we had were excellent and the vehicles were also excellent. if i could make one suggestion, the drivers perhaps shouldn't talk on the cell phones while they drive, but, even when this happened, i knew they were still very attentive to the road. the hotels were also very nice. thank you also for your flexibility when i needed to make some changes in the itinerary. in short, a great trip and i thank you for all of your efforts. you have a beautiful country. be well, paul blank

Dear Patrick, Now that we're back home, I thought I'd give you a review of all the arrangements you made, including our opinion of the hotels. The trip was very well organized and we immensely enjoyed ourselves. We tried to call you before we left, but your mobile phone seemed to be closed. First, the hotels: San Cristobal - Plaza Magnolia - Very good hotel. The main building, which we stayed in, has been named a national heritage landmark Palenque - Xibalba - Pleasant hotel, 5 minute walk to a large, well-stocked supermarket, adjacent to an excellent seafood restaurant Xela - Casa Manen - Unique building for us. Could live in it. Panachanel - Hotel Dos Mundos - Very nice hotel, nice staff, good complementary breakfast Chichicastenango - Mayan Inn - Same as Casa Manen Coban - Casa Duranta - Good hotel, pleasant staff Antigua - Casa Mia - Good hotel, problematic location (out of town) if you don't have your own private transportation. Language problems with night staff (only one young man who doesn't speak a word of English) Antigua - Posada La Merced - Good hotel, manager is English, so no language problems Posada Caribe - Suggest to Julian that he consider installing a system guaranteeing electricity at all times and put in hot showers. Very basic, and very clean. If you can accept the lack of comfort that you get in 4-5 star hotels (which we had no trouble with), Posada Caribe is not to be missed. Wonderful hike/tour of Aquateca with Julian's assistant, David. Recommendation - Arrive at night. The boat ride in the dark is fantastic, something out of a Hollywood movie, or National Geographic nature film. Flores - Casazul - Pleasant hotel for the price. Great to sit on the veranda overlooking the lake and drink a cup of coffee or a late-night cocktail. Recommend 2nd or 3rd floor rooms only, due to mosquitoes on the ground floor On the way to Sayache, we stopped at the underground caverns (I forgot the name) and Semuc Champey, and toured them alone. We believe that the authorities should provide a guide specializing in each place should accompany any group and people should not be allowed to go alone, as there can be danger. The services you provided were at a very high, and professional, level. The only negative comment we have is regarding Flores. We knew we were going to Tikal in a collective shuttle, but didn't realize the plane from Antigua was an hour late. We apologize for our complaint about this. All in all, we were very satisfied with all the arrangements and have said so to all our acquaitances. Sincerely, Mark

I very much enjoyed the day I spent at the coffee farm El Patrocinio nearby QUETZALTEANGO with Adrenalina Tours. Paulino, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable about the plethora of beautiful birds, flowers, and trees we saw in the peaceful finca and nature preserve. We started out the day in an observation tower listening to the birds chirping and the water cascading through the scenic valley. We then walked through the woods toward the coffee, cocoa, and macadamia fields where we learned about the operation of the finca. We ended the day in their outdoor dining room and observation deck with a wonderful meal and great conversation with our tour guide and other people at the finca. Between the owl spotting, the picturesque waterfall , the exotic nature hike and the great company, I cannot think of a better way to spend a day. THANK YOU SO MUCH !

Soy antropologo.

Adrenalina Tours, Having used your excellent services twice when in Xela two years ago I'm planning to return in about 13 months and wondering about a tour to El Salvador and or Honduras lasting about 10 days or 2 weeks? Since I plan to study Spanish in Xela my first 3 weeks there it would be later in April after Easter or in early May. Alan Porter, Canada

I was with the group that had the privilege of having Lucas as the driver of the bus Feb. 2nd. - Feb 10th. I just wanted to send an e-mail to tell you what a wonderful job he did for our group. He is a very careful driver and showed us alot of wonderful places. It was exciting to have a driver that mixed with the group. Lucas is a very nice person and you are lucky to have him as an employee. Mary and Don Jordan

Dear Pieter, we spent November in Guatemala. We used Adrenalina many times to buy shuttle and airline tickets. It felt like home. All employees were very helpful, especially Javier in Antigua. You drivers are great people. One took us all the way into a little village, San Jorge, where we visited some friends of Sonja's. All together we had a wonderful time in Guatemala. The people arewonderful the scenery outstanding. Thanks again, Susanne and Don Wolter
