Pacaya volcano
The Pacaya is by far the most popular volcano to climb in Guatemala, and not without a reason. The volcano is easy to climb and is the opportunity to climb an active volcano. On clear days you can see the volcano’s Agua, Fuego and Acatenango. If you arrive at the top of the Pacaya you can smell the solver, feel he heat and you have a good chance to actually see lava.

Acatenango
Difficulty: MODERATE
Acatenango. The Acatenango is a more difficult to climb, but the views that you have from this volcano are amazing. Especially at the Fuego Volcano which is an active volcano located next to the Acatenango. During your hike on the Acatenango you come through a beautiful pine forest which provides some nice shadow. You can also camp for one night at this volcano to have an impressive night view at the Fuego Volcano.
What to bring / wear: Hiking boots, long trousers, wind or rain jacket, sun block, sun glasses, camera, binoculars, torch if you go in the afternoon and at least 2 liters of water.
