The majority of inhabitants of San Martín Sacatepéquez are indigenous from the Mam tribe. For them, the Laguna Chicabal is sacred and miraculous. The shape of the Laguna and the fog that shrouds the volcano only serve to enhance the mysticism of the place.
Pacaya is by far the most popular volcano to climb in Guatemala, and not without reason. The volcano is easy to climb and provides
the opportunity to climb an active volcano. On clear days you can also see the volcanoes of Agua, Fuego and Acatenango. If you arrive at the top of the Pacaya you can smell the sulfer, feel the heat and there is a good chance of seeing lava.
For those who wish to avoid big tourist groups, we have designed the Pacaya VIP. We travel in a small group with an English speaking guide.
Breakfast or lunch and entrance fees are included with the package. This trip is ideal for people who want a bit more quality for their money.
